Let your conduct be without covetousness, and be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’” (Hebrews 13:5)

Dear Friend,

Trusting that all is well with you and your loved ones. We are all fine, and enjoying the colors of Fall as they unfold. Each season has its beauty, just as in life. We think of our past and can remember good times that have helped to mold us and give us joy. It is the in-between times of testing that we would rather forget! However, God is Faithful, He has always been there, even when we did not “feel” His Presence. Glory!

What season are you in right now? Is it a time of testing and trials, or is a time where you are reaping rewards? Isn’t it a wonderful thing to know that no matter what period we are in, we have a Faithful Lord and Savior who is standing by us and cheering us on? To put this in the natural, we may have a loved one who is far away at this time, but yet we are connected somehow, and we know that this person is for us, and praying for us. We may not feel that person’s presence, but the prayers and wishes for us are known.

The wonderful and awesome thing about God is that even if we do not feel Him, He is right there with us, He is ever present! Our connection is as close as our breath. All we have to do is call upon Him, and He will answer. The Bible tells us in Heb. 13:8 that “Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” He is Alive and interceding for us. He is cheering us on! “...He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” (Rom. 8:27)

There may be times in our life when we feel as if we are standing still, and life is passing us by. God’s Word says “be content with such things as you have.” Then it goes on to say “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Glory! Therefore, even during those hard times, we can be sure that God is there, and He is Faithful to see us through. We cannot look at what others may have, we cannot look at what we did have, or want to have. In order to be fully alive, let us live each day to the fullest! When we place all of our cares upon Jesus, there is a freedom that comes to our spirit, soul and body. We can take a deep breath and know that our Savior lives and He is watching out for us. We are never alone!

There are times in our life when we may lose a loved one; a parent, a husband, a wife, a child, a relative or friend. Suddenly we feel lost and wonder how we can go on without that person who was such a blessing in our life. I felt like that with my son, and my husband. It is never easy; that person will always be on our mind in one way or another because we were connected. And that is okay, God’s Word is all about relationships, healing, and restoration. If we keep pressing in, and keep our prayer life strong, God will show Himself strong on our behalf. He will heal the broken heart. He is especially concerned for widows and orphans, His Word says that over and over again, and there are rewards for those who take care of them. That is how much they mean to Him.

Let us keep these things in mind as we go about our routine each day. God is calling you to go higher in Him! He wants fellowship! He is calling YOUR name!

He is saying: “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat. (This means to devour the Gospels) Yes, come buy wine and milk (God’s Word is nourishing) without money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy?” (Only God can satisfy) Listen diligently to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance. (Isa. 55:1-2)

This Scripture says it all. There is nothing in this world that can satisfy us fully! No amount of shopping will do it, no amount of seemingly good times will do it. These good times will pass, and then where are we? But the love of our Lord is everlasting to everlasting. His love never fails! His love is perfect, and when we give Him first place in our life, we become winners! When we wake up in the morning and give Him the day, He will orchestrate it for us and guide us as we go along. When we give Him our nighttime and hours of sleep, He will cover us and watch over us and give us good dreams. When we give Him our family, He will watch over them. When we give Him our finances, He will give us wisdom in handling them. When we give Him our possessions, and give of our tithe, He will prosper us. These are His promises and they hold true to everlasting.

Let us begin today to be content with what we have, and entrust our future to Him. Let us relax and not be weary in well doing. Let us be a light to the world and look for ways to serve Him by helping others. Let us devour His Word and digest it so that it becomes a part of us! This is what is important in life. Let us love others with His love, let us bring comfort where needed, edification and strength to the weary, food for the hungry, and most of all our time. Shut the TV, turn off the cell phone, shut down the computer, and give of time. In the end this is what we want people to remember us by, isn’t it?

Let us pray...Father, in Jesus Mighty and Precious Name we come before You and worship and adore You. Lord, we hand our life over to you, we hand our loved ones, our finances, our jobs, all that concerns us, to You. We thank You and we trust You that with You all things are possible, so we are resting in Your Word. Draw us nearer Lord, bring us to the place of rest in You. Thank You Father, we love You. Amen.

Remember, Sunday, Oct. 2, is the Day to Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem. Put it on your calendar! God bless you!
