“Call upon Me in the day of trouble: I will deliver you and you shall glorify Me.” (Psalm 50:15)
October 2009 Dear Friend, Trusting that all is well with you and your loved ones. All is well here, and we praise God for 20 precious years of ministry this month! God is so Good! Because of you, our partner, we are blessed to be able to be a lifeline to so many throughout all these years. Our Hope Connection prayer line has been a means of reaching our nation with the message of salvation and the love of Jesus Christ. Many of our 45 volunteers have been with us since day one, and they express their gratitude to God for bringing them to the place where they can be a blessing to so many. When people call in, our prayer partners are there to listen, offer encouragement from the Word of God, give referrals if needed, and send literature that applies. He has touched so many lives throughout the years; the praise reports keep coming in. I love reading my mail when I come into the office. Your letters are so encouraging and precious to me. Bless you for taking the time to write those notes. Glory!! Thank You Jesus!! This month we are also holding the annual International Day to Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem, an initiative of Eagles’ Wings ministry with Robert Stearns and Jack Hayford. On Sunday, October 4th, Churches around the world will take time to pray for the Middle East and the people there, both Jews and Arabs alike. We love all the people there, and we pray for salvation and peace for all. We also pray according to Psalm 122:6 as a command from God to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. I hope that your church is on board for this. If not, there is still time. Go to www.daytopray.com and sign up! Tell your pastor! It is free to sign up, and there are free downloads which will help your church to make this day a memorable one. All that is required is to take a few minutes out of your Sunday service to pray. You can make it as elaborate or as simple as you want. Our church incorporates Israeli type worship and dance, and we have a special speaker from our church, who is a Jewish believer. We hold hands after he speaks and we pray. It is truly a precious time, and we believe God for the answer to our prayers. When we look at the problems in the Middle East and here in the United States where we are personally affected, it is obvious that God is calling us to pray. God says that He will prosper those who love Jerusalem. If we want our country, and all that concerns us, to prosper, we should follow this command. God also says in Psalm 50:15 that when we call upon him in our day of trouble, He will deliver us. We know that God is on our side. He loves His children so much that He gave His only Son, Jesus, to die on the Cross of Calvary so that we can be saved, delivered, healed and set free. Praise God! He has given us every spiritual blessing, meaning divine privileges and resources available. (Eph. 1:3) We are not alone! God is watching over us and cheering us on! He has predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself. (Vs. 4) This does not mean that He has chosen some, but not others. He already knew in advance who would accept Him, and for those who do by their own free choice, He has a guaranteed destiny for them. Read this again. “A guaranteed destiny.” If you have accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, you have a guaranteed destiny. You have been accepted into the family of God. You are “in Christ.” You are in the circle of the King’s reign. You fit right in, you are a son or a daughter of the Most High God. Glory! Therefore, you have a destiny to be fulfilled. The best is yet to come! You don’t have to be fearful of what is going on in the world. You don’t have to worry about your life, whether you will eat or not, whether you will be healed, whether you will see the answers to your prayers. God’s grace is already there! It is in the NOW! You have redemption through His blood, therefore you are forgiven, and everything He has belongs to you. Because He lives, as the song goes, “we can face tomorrow.” God will meet our needs and He will take us from glory to glory if our heart stays fixed on Him. He knows the desires of your heart, He hears your prayers, He sees your tears. He will move heaven and earth to bring the answer to your prayers! There is always hope in Him! And someday you will see Him face to face! The things of this world are only temporary. When we get to heaven it will be eternal; we will be with Him forever and ever. Jesus says in Rev. 2:10b “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” Rev. 21: 4 tells us: “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes: there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” This is the hope that we have as Christians! While the world has no hope, Christians say differently! Lift up your eyes towards heaven, begin to praise Him and worship Him! Thank Him for the answers to your prayers, even if you don’t see it right now. Pray with a joyful heart! Give thanks and praise and worship Him with your whole being. Breakthrough is coming! Pray it through, speak into it, declare it done for His Glory. There is nothing more powerful than true, heartfelt intercession. God loves intercession. He loves intimacy with you. He loves to hear your voice! You are precious to Him. He just loves you so much, you make Him smile. There is nothing that can take you away from the love of God. If God is for you, who can be against you? (Rom. 8:31) You are more than a conqueror through Him who loved us. (Rom. 8:37) You have the victory in Him! My prayer for you today is that you will fully understand all that you have in Him. That you will know that you are seated in heavenly places, and that all He has belongs to you. Father, in Jesus Name, I lift up this reader to You, and I ask You to touch him or her in a special way today. Lord, show this reader Your Glory! Show this reader the riches he or she has in You. You are All-Powerful, Almighty, Everlasting, from ages to ages. You are the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. Lord, show Your Glory. Lift this reader up in his or her spirit, soul, and body. Meet the needs of this person. Encourage this person right now, and give this person a song in their heart. For Your Glory. Amen & Amen. God bless you! Happy Anniversary!
Blessings Rev. Barbara Yovino, Ph.D.
