“Your kingdom come, Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10)

May 2009

Dear Friend,

Trusting that all is well with you and your loved ones. We are pressing in and thanking God for increased ministry. Spring is here and this means walking the streets and getting to know people as we pass by. Last month we spoke about asking God for our daily bread. It may look like I am taking the Lord’s prayer backwards, but there is a reason for it. So many people are out of work and with the economy the way it is, I really felt that encouragement for seeking God’s provision had to come first. We all needed a quick “shot in the arm” so that we could get on track.

This month we are going to get into the heart of what we want to see happen here on earth. We have all been praying for our country, for our finances, for world peace and so much more. But how are we to pray? What do we want to see happen here on earth? Let us take it one step at a time... 1. We want to see God’s glory come down to earth. 2. We want to see a worldwide move of God, with a great harvest of souls, where everyone is saved and prepared for heaven. 3. We want to see signs and wonders, with the sick healed, and the dead raised. 4.  We want to see peace in the world, no more wars. 5. We want to see peace in the Middle East. 6. We want to see our economy healed, with people receiving every opportunity for employment. We want to see the multiplication of food, and funds.  7. We want to see families restored. 8. We want to see our young people taking the helm to bring changes in this world that will bring healing and restoration. We can go on and on, there is so much more.

When Jesus taught us how to pray, He said we should pray for our Father’s Kingdom to come as it is in heaven. In heaven, God is there, His glory is always present. In heaven, all who are there were saved, and prepared to be there. In heaven, no one is sick, no one is dead! Every person is more alive than he or she ever was! In heaven, there is no war, there is only peace. There is no want for anything; for food, or funds for items that we need. Jesus said that He goes and prepares a place for us, “In My Fathers house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” (Jn, 14:3) Glory! Therefore, in heaven, we will have a place to live. We will not have to worry about keeping up with the

mortgage payments! We will not have to think of food, or what to wear. Those of us who are Born Again have so much to look forward to!!

Getting back to earth now... When Jesus said to pray “Thy Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven” can you now picture what He meant by that? Everything in heaven is perfect. There is no sorrow there. There are no tears.. “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” (Rev. 21:4)

When we are in situations in life, and it looks like there is no way out, that things have gotten just too hard to bear, we must keep this in mind... with God all things are possible! (Matt. 19:26) Jesus would never teach us to pray a certain way if the outcome was impossible! He gave us the means for salvation... His life, death, and Resurrection. He gave us the means for our healing.. The stripes that He bore.. He gave us the means for our physical provision... everything comes from Him! The food that we eat, the homes that we live in, etc. He gave us every opportunity to learn, to grow, to make a living. He gave us the means for peace... He is Peace. When we trust in Him, we will have peace. When we grow in the fruit of the Spirit, our view of life and relationships change, and we become more loving. (Read Galations Chapter 5) When we trust in Him instead of in our own strength, we will not have stress, or nervous breakdowns. When we look at how heaven is, and how He taught us to pray, we can take what He has given us and  reach up and grab hold of Him, praying until the answers come!

Instead of trying to figure out how to work things out, let us pray the way Jesus taught us to pray! If we want to see lives changed, people saved, healed, delivered, set free, and if we want to see peace and harmony in this world, let it begin with us! Let us go on a mission, starting today, to bring down God’s Kingdom to this earth. Let us first change ourselves and then move forward to bring change in the world around us. We cannot change the whole world, but we can let it begin with us. We can touch one person today, and then that one person will go on to touch others, and from there it will spread across the land, and to future generations. Whatever time we have left in this world, let us make our mark! It is never too late! Start with your family, then your neighbors, and so on. Speak to those in authority! Write letters that will bring about change in world policies! Pray for those in authority! Attend town hall, or community  meetings if you can. Get to church on Sunday, and offer your help!  If everyone did their part, His Kingdom will come down to earth! Let us begin today!

Father, in Jesus Name, I life up this reader to You, and I pray that You will speak to his or her heart. Lord, that You would show this person the things he or she can do that will make a difference. Encourage this person, meet his or her needs according to Your riches in glory. Let Your Kingdom come down upon this life, and this household, and let Your will be done in every life! Bring salvation where needed, peace where needed, encouragement, hope, love, joy, health, finances, wisdom, knowledge, understanding! Lord, let Your will be done as it is in heaven! We trust You, and we honor and adore You. Thank You Father. In Jesus mighty Name, we pray. Amen!  God bless you!
