“The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.” (Lam. 3:25)

June 2005

Dear Friend,

I would like to take this opportunity to say hello, and wish you and your loved ones a wonderful month of June.  Our format is a little different this month, because I wanted to feel as if I am talking to you face to face. I would love to someday meet with you and thank you personally for all the years that you have stood by us keeping the prayers going, and giving of your resources.  If you would be interested in coming to a meeting here in Brooklyn, write to me and let me know that. It would be such a blessing for all of CHN intercessors to get together one day! God willing, we can make it happen!

June is a busy month with graduations, weddings, and all good things. My grandson Michael is graduating from High School and will be going on to college. Congratulations to all those who are graduating this month!

This month we will be involved with Pray NY, and the NY Billy Graham Crusade. It is a wonderfully busy time as we prepare to do warfare with the enemy of our souls because we know we win! We are in a battle my friend! When we look at what is happening in the world, we have to see the signs of the times. It is coming to the point where there is no middle ground in what we may believe, either we are hot or cold. Christ is coming for a church on fire! How on fire are we? Are we burning hot? Or are the coals simply simmering? How important to us is winning the lost to Christ? Are we serious in what we believe? Or are we simply sitting back thinking someday I’ll get to heaven and all of this will be behind me? What does God have to say about this? The Bible tells us to seek God, and to seek Him with all our heart. “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for me with all your heart.” (Jer. 29:13) There should be a groaning within our soul, a thirst that cannot be quenched until we have spent all we have in our spirit, soul and body to find Him, and to know Him as the Desire of our heart! Until we reach that point, all else is dust and dry. Until that point our destiny is not fulfilled in what He has designed it to be. Our destiny is to know Him, to love Him, and to serve Him with all of our heart and soul in this life and forevermore! Our destiny is to praise Him with all of our being for the Gift of Salvation, for the promise of life eternal with Him forever and ever!!  Because of Him we know that this world with both its glitter and sorrow is not our destiny! There is so much more! Praise God!!!

Isn’t it time to get out of our comfort zone and let the world know this? Isn’t it time to give of ourselves to do all we can to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ? But, one thing, we must live the Gospel in order to spread it! We must be serious in what we are doing! What good are all the comforts of life, if this is all there is? We can own the nicest home, have the best clothes, the fanciest vacations, but if we do not have Jesus, we have nothing. The past twenty five years or so have been a time of self indulgence. It has been the norm to think of glamour, glitz, prosperity, and the best of everything that money can buy. Yes, God wants to bless us with good things, but when these things become god to us then they are worthless!

What we give to further the Kingdom of God is what is lasting, and forever. Jesus tells us in Matt. 16:24 “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.” What Jesus is saying is He must be the God of our life. Nothing should be more important than Him, and everything we do, we should be doing to bring glory to Him.

Let us take this time to examine our life, our motives, and what is really important. Let us spend precious time with our Savior, seeking Him with all our heart and putting aside the things in this world that do not matter. Let us press in giving all that we are, and all that we have to bring glory to our King!

God bless you,

Rev. Dr. Barbara Anne Yovino
